Biographical/Historical note: The Utah Fire and Rescue Academy has evolved into a unique organization that provides fire and emergency service related training, education, professional certification and resource assistance. These services are provided at UVU and have included training in wildland and structural firefighting, hazardous materials response, emergency medicine, rescue, emergency response to terrorism and numerous other topics. Students have included public safety personnel from both public and private agencies.

Arrangement note: Boxes are in reverse chronological order: 1986-2005; 1980-1983; 1970-1979; 1960-1969. Followed by materials with no known date: fire school; vehicles; funeral; US Air Force; miscellaneous.

Scope and Contents note: This collection from the Utah Valley University Utah Fire and Rescue Academy (UFRA)consists of photographs, negatives, and proof sheets. These graphic materials depict UFRA staff and instructors, various forms of fire and rescue training on campus and throughout the United States as well as related vehicles and other related social events.
